Paradigms in Education for Re-Creating a Sustainable and Peaceful World

The 20th International World Conference of the World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) will be hosted by the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Education and Regional Development of the University of Pécs, in Szekszárd, Hungary, from October 4 to 8, 2026.
The central theme of the conference is:
“Paradigms in Education for Re-Creating a Sustainable and Peaceful World.”
This interdisciplinary and international academic event will bring together researchers, educators, scholars, policy-makers, community leaders, and students to:

explore the transformative role of education in shaping a more sustainable, equitable, and peaceful global society,
-
critically examine current educational paradigms and their limitations in addressing challenges such as climate change, social injustice, conflict, and inequality,
-
highlight innovative educational models that prioritize sustainability, peacebuilding, and global citizenship,
-
foster cross-disciplinary and intercultural dialogue on how education can serve as a powerful tool for healing, empowerment, and change,
-
provide a collaborative platform for sharing policies, curricula, practices, and technologies that promote ecological balance, human rights, and peace.
Call for Papers
Researchers, experts, scholars, and practitioners are invited to submit proposals for presentations. Topics may include, but are not limited to:

educational sciences and teaching practices,
-
sustainability and peace education,
-
digital innovation and engaging learning environments,
-
language, arts, music, science, and STEM education,
-
teacher training, professional development, and values education,
-
inclusive education and community involvement,
-
psychological counseling and guidance,
-
educational management and policy challenges.
All abstracts will be submitted through the online abstract submission system and will undergo a double-blind review process.
